Day 3 of My Coding Journey: Tackling HTML Essentials and Discovering Agile
June 27, 2024, noon
Today’s focus was more HTML essentials; I am an absolute beginner, remember?
On the list: tables, forms, and form descriptions.
Having found the last (first) two days a breeze, today Brain was just not Braining. I found myself too easily distracted. Every pop-up (that I've forgotten how to disable) promised too much excitement, and that elusive dopamine hit that never really pays off. Anyway, head down, more coffee, get stuff done.
The highlight of the day was our first collective group tutorial. Subject: Agile.
What?
Don't forget I've literally had "out of office" on for nearly 20 years.
We focused on a shared app/workspace, described to me as a virtual whiteboard/group planner/brainstorming tool—a place to plan and collaborate. Completely alien to me. Note to Brain: "Try harder"!
So, I embraced it! I got some virtual "post-it notes" stuck in various online spaces and started to get the hang of it. I’m still not entirely sure what Agile is all about, but that’s okay. I’m sure I’ll appreciate it more as we go along.
The best part? I survived another day! Finished up the day's essential tasks before the kids got home from school, and even started on tomorrow's schedule. Brain seems to be in top gear now (Night owl?), and I’ve almost completed tomorrow’s timetable. 🤣
Feeling accomplished, also not counting my chickens yet, but ready for Day 4! 🚀
As I continue this journey, I'm excited about the potential to help others progress from where I am right now to where I might be when you find me. I've got my core staples in the background which I still love; social media management and video editing projects ongoing—creating a great balance of creativity and learning.
